Battery issues

I have only had this for exactly a year and 1 month and now it will not charge. Its funny because the yr warranty is up. When it is plugged up there is a red light that comes on. I am sure what it mean yet because I can not find any information on it. I assume that the battery is completely dead and it will not charge.

There were times where I would give voice commands but nothing happened ?!? Maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to boot?...
